Duties and responsibilities:
Industrial hygiene is the science and art of anticipating, identifying, evaluating, and controlling health hazards. Although some occupations appear more dangerous than others, potential short-term and long-term health hazards occur in every profession - from banking to construction work. These hazards can include exposure to chemical, physical, ergonomic and biological agents, and faulty work practices. Industrial hygienists also apply their skills to community issues such as hazardous waste disposal, indoor air quality, and air and noise pollution.
